I've only watched the first 36 minutes or so and I'm sad to say I was slightly disappointed. Sure the film was as high quality as the rest and it'd be fair to say that it in fact is the best so far but for those people that have read the book I feel it may be a disappointment. The way things have been scripted makes it all seem rather rushed and they've changed the order of certain things, this actually annoyed me. Despite how let down I felt about the film I still feel it is a great addition to what is a wonderful series, unfortuantly the books will always remain better then the films.

Certain parts of the book that I felt were important were left out or moved to fit in somewhere else which in my opinion didn't work for the film. I know they are on a time limit and they have to fit so much in but I believe that they may drag out parts that although important to the storyline the time given was not required.

yes just finished watching the movie i was waiting for a year and i absolutely loved it. the last book of the widely successful Harry Potter series have been split to half to make 2 movies, this is the first part of it and the 2nd and unfortunately last one will be out next year in July. Man, i grew up watching this franchise, it shaped up my whole life, everything, it has become a part of not just mine but billion of people's life. wow this is an epic saga no doubt and i am really sad that its about to end. but still if you guys who have not read the book but were eagerly waiting for this movie, you might be tiny bit disappointed after watching this one, because of lack of subject or content towards the last 40 minutes but that is just because of the idea of two movies on one book i think, but anyways i loved it.

i think the problem with this film was splitting it into two parts, i think HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF PHOENIX which is my most favorite of the series was the longest book but the movie was not that long. they should have made this into a one huge Mega finale. As i earlier mentioned that the last 40 minutes were Harry and his friends go in search for the Horcruxes. that have been dragged and stretched far too long. but still i would say that been fan of this series, those scenes even technically are not boring at all but you may get tired for a while seeing those scenes but otherwise this is a great movie, truly great. it have been very well scripted, screenplay is excellent and engaging. story is ofcourse awsome.

This movie i will say is the most darkest of the series, even the Sixth installment was dark too but this one with not just looks or feeling but with the whole contents, story and plot is the darkest of all. it begins with one of the darkest scenes too and ends , which is not actually a climax because it will continue to the next movie, still ends epically with a scenes of pure mystery and horror. Movie gives exact same mystery feeling that you get while watching any Harry Potter movie.

with good to decent performances, Daniel Radcliffe delivers decent performance, i always thinks he is not a good actor but he performs ok, Emma Watson delivers one of her best performance and she looks stunningly beautiful. Rupert Grint was good too. Most of the screen time of course goes to them. Ralph Fiennes is excellent ofcouse as Lord Voldemort, though Alan Rickman is hardly seen, but i love his performance every time. Helena Bonham Carter is outstanding in her role the most creepiest character. while many other actors are decent in their particular characters.

excellent and breathtaking epic like background score, with stunning cinematography and superb camera work. this one also has one of the best special and Visual effects too. loved it. it maybe somehow not that good in terms of the script but still it proves to be a great movie. Director David Yates brings a very Dark and grim tone to this movie which is lovely, movie seems very mature just like the previous entry and his sense of direction is truly different from the other directors. it is visually breathtaking, most stunning movie of the series. Extremely entertaining. enjoyable ripping thriller. it has romance too ofcourse the Ron and hermoine one is really cute while harry And Ginny one at just one scene is very sensual. i loved this movie so much still i will give it not 5/5 but 4.5/5 stars. Must Must and seriously Must watch for the regular fans ofcourse no doubt, i don't even need to tell you guys but if you haven't watched the previous one then don't watch it or you will be lost.

The first installment of the final Harry Potter series could have easily been done as one film, since breaking down Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 seems to dilute the effect, but it’s still worth the watch and the Part 2 has a lot to make up for.

I never been that wild about the Harry Potter movies but i watched each one, but the trailers and stills from the film made us actually look forward to Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1. I was wondering if the studio was looking a little too greedy turning this into two parts since the biggest book of the series Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire was the shortest film of the franchise. After watching Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1, I have to say, Warner Bros wanted to milk out the final film for all it’s worth.

I am not saying it was bad, but the beginning felt very cumbersome and a letdown. Luckily, Harry Potter films, even the not so good ones, are a visual treat so it doesn’t feel like such a disappointment like say a crapfest film as ‘Skyline’.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 was a bit of a letdown, but it’s worth the watch for the fantastic visuals. It will leave you feeling somewhat melancholy as these kids have been put on the path of adults without much hope to guide them.

This movie, Was a great one. It was a strange setting that was kind of hard to get used to. We all are so used to the Harry Potter movies being in the Hogwarts school setting. It was a bit different. And i really like how things were changed up. A lot of things from the book was missing however, its probably a good thing that they weren't all involved, because instead of two, two and a half hour movies we would have ended up with two, 5 hour long movies. I have liked all of the Harry Potter movies, i've liked them and watched them since they have first came out, and all i can say is they just keep getting better. The ending to part one just blew my mind, i didnt expect it to end that way. I mean i read the book and all, I would have never guessed they would have picked that spot to split it up. I can't wait for part two of Deathly Hallows comes out. I'm really excited, its hard to believe we have to wait until July of 2011 to see it. The anticipation is really getting to me already.

I don't know how other film lovers and Harry Potter fans feel but I for one have had mixed experiences with these films. The first two films were good, the third and fourth were the best in the series, the fifth was a disaster, and the sixth was OK. The beloved wizard named "Harry Potter" has definitely had a bumpy road in his transition from novel to screen in my opinion. With that being said, the end is near folks and part one of the final chapter of "Harry Potter" has arrived in theaters. That's right for those of you living under a rock, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One" is in theaters now. I was a bit leery seeing the film after how disappointed I have been since David Yates took over the franchise but like any dedicated fan boy, I walked into the theater hoping for the best.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One" is the beginning of the end of one of the most popular and beloved book/film franchises in history. In the seventh entry in the film series, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) along with his two best friends Hermione (Emma Watson) and Rupert Grint have to fight time and evil as they discover that the three of them have to track down and destroy the missing Horcruxes. Along the way, the three friends learn about the dark secrets of Dumbledore as well as the three most powerful objects in the wizarding world known as the Deathly Hallows. Suspense ensues..

As I said above, I am a pretty loyal fan to the franchise as I have seen all the films and read the books. I enjoyed the film franchise a lot until David Yates took over as director. When I attended the midnight showing of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" I was extremely disappointed. I knew going into the film that they left the franchise in the hands of an amateur filmmaker and the end result was not a good experience at all. When I saw the sixth film, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was being made my Yates, I actually cringed. I had a slightly better experience with the sixth film although I still felt Yates really didn't really give the book much justice. The whole ending of the film was just terrible and wasn't even remotely dramatic. Yates destroyed a huge moment in the "Harry Potter" legacy with that ending.

Now moving on to the seventh film, David Yates actually made "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One" into one one the best films in the franchise. Let me tell you that I was shocked to come out of the film saying wow this is a great entry in the franchise but it truly was. Yates must have really studied the last book when he made the film. Yates added some stuff to the film that was not in the book and was unnecessary but as a whole the film was very loyal to the book. Yates finally captured the magic that is "Harry Potter." I guess the old saying, third times the charm, applies to this film.

Yates direction was perfectly timed and placed, unlike the previous two entry the film didn't suffer from any real boring spots. This one was shot much better and the pace was on the ball. Yates captured the actors and actually made them seem mature and realistic without coming off as forced. In the previous entries, I remember laughing at Harry when he started yelling but in this film he was more convincing and that's due to the better direction by Yates.

At this point, I think its unnecessary to comment on the acting in the film because all the same characters have been playing the same roles. I will say that all of the actors in the film have definitely matured in their roles. Radcliffe, Grint, and Watson have these roles down to near perfection at this point. I liked how good Grint was in the film. His acting skills have definitely improved as the franchise went on. All the acting is solid in this one. I can't even complain about that!

In the end, would I classify "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One" the best film in the franchise? No, because I still feel "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" holds that honor. It's is however, the second best film in the franchise and "HPATDHP2" does have the potential to being the best film in the franchise. My faith in Harry Potter has been restored and that says a lot considering I was ready to toss the towel in on the franchise, if this film wasn't good but Yates restored my faith. This was a great film even if your not a Harry Potter fan. The pacing, the acting, the story, and the suspense is all very well done with this entry. I think HP fans will be in love with the film and it is not surprise to me that this is the biggest money making film in the franchise. If you haven't already, get to the local theater and check this entry out as you wont be disappointed! I Loved the film it was amazing the best film of 2010 shame it was slow moving i found it sad at times but overwealming in a good way also i hope that everyone enjoys it just as me and i think part 2 will be so good, 2010 film of the year it should be

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows was an ok watch for me. The shooting sequences were nicely done and layed out but it lacked the qualities written by Jo Rowling. Some scenes seemed to drag and stretch out whilst others were more abrubt and dissapointing. For example the Malfoy Manor fight scene did not last long enough as i expected it to (from reading the book). Furthermore they could have taken a little bit more time progressing the scene for the non-reader. In conclusion my overall rating is a 3 which is a little bit harsh but i will stick to my descion.

When I was a kid I was a huge fan of harry potter saga, so I expect a lot of a movie like this.
But how we can notice this is a movie made only for winning money.. starting from the fact that the movie is filled with garbage scenes, I notice that Im bored...
Its important to say that the escenography was incredible, and the story cold be much more intersting.

Well what can i say? Im sure all of us expect that this movie would be the best among the other harry potter movies. Sadly for me, this does not seem to be the case. Although there were a few interesting scenes, i must say that the director has replaced some of the good parts of the book with some corny and ridiculous scenes (eg. the dance scene). Some might argue that the regarding scene shows what a compatible pair harry and hermione make but the director must not sway away from the story. Anyway, this is my review and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My rating: 6.5/10

When i started watching this movie lets just say i was hooked. Yes i am a big harry potter geek but i will try to keep this review a review and not my bias opinion. Okay first off the acting in this movie was on-point. I think that from the get-go that this cast was picked perfectly, their chemistry in front of the camera is rather amazing. unlike most harry potters movie this one didn't seem to have many dragged out moments, instead someone moments were to short, they should have made very important moments to short and unimportant moments over stay their welcome. I have preferred to see more concentrated magic instead of fast action point wand "zap pom pow run run scream scream." I was very sad with the lack of action this movie had, yes it did have good moments like when they were in the woods but the confrontation level in this game was around 3-4. This movie concentrated more on Harry, Hermione,and Ron's conflict with each other as they prepare for the fight of their lives. Overall this movie was great and i would recommend this for anyone

"These are dark times, there's no denying," he intones gravely, pointing out the grim state of affairs facing the nation- murders, disappearances and raids- but reassuring the public, as any politician would, that his Ministry has it all under control. Of course, he is only bluffing, and it doesn't take long before the palpable sense of doom and despair convinces you otherwise.

Welcome back to the magical world of Harry Potter, one that began with wonder and joy, but has since become shrouded in death and darkness. Still visibly distraught from the death of his mentor Professor Albus Dumbledore, Harry is now tasked to continue with the mission of the late Dumbledore- to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes (accursed objects containing fragments of Voldemort's soul). It doesn't get any easier, since Voldemort is nearing the height of his powers, and his bidders have infiltrated the bureaucracy to paint Harry as a wanted criminal.

There are fewer and fewer allies around- even those within the Order of the Phoenix may have since betrayed their ranks- and the first half hour quickly establishes the danger and urgency of the situation at hand. Members of the Order, including Mad-Eye Moody (Brendan Gleeson) and Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane), attempt to escort Harry to safety- but even that mission is met with an attack from the Death Eaters, culminating in a dizzyingly exciting high-speed flying-bike chase that shouldn't disappoint fans looking for some action sorely missed in the last movie.

Indeed, naysayers who think David Yates doesn't know how to stage thrilling action sequences should think again, as he demonstrates amply that he is just as capable when it comes to staging them. He also displays an uncanny knack for milking suspense out of scenes- in particular, Harry, Hermoine and Ron's daring raid on the Ministry of Magic and their subsequent visit to Godric's Hollow, Harry's birthplace and home to Bathilda Bagshot, a magician and dear friend to Dumbledore. These brim with nail-biting tension, and Yates plays them out nicely to set your pulse racing at the end.

The crux of this film however lies in the relationships between Harry, Hermoine and Ron as they set off in the middle of the film across the bleak English countryside on their quest to discover the means to destroy the Horcruxes. On the run from Voldemort, the trio find the immensity of their journey taking a toll on them. Harry and Ron's friendship begins to fray as Ron grows suspect of Hermoine's affections for Harry. Meanwhile, Harry can barely conceal his frustration with getting no headway and starts losing his temper at Ron.

Infused with a profound sense of isolation and loss, this middle stretch in the film may be tedious for some impatient viewers, but fans will be rewarded with probably the richest depiction of the relationships between the characters since the first two movies. One scene where Harry and Hermoine suddenly decide to dance together to the tune of Nick Cave's The Children playing on the radio is lyrical in its depiction of their desperate attempt to find levity in a world that affords none. Yes, their friendship strong and deep since the beginning will be tested, and Yates delivers an emotional payoff towards the end of the film that is truly poignant.

Thanks to the decision to split the final book into two films, Yates doesn't hurry through these scenes. Instead, he allows the audience to experience the frustration, jealousy and uncertainty of his characters, and allows for Radcliffe, Watson and Grint to display some fine acting with the minimalest distraction from any visual effects. The additional time also turns out to be a blessing for fans and audiences, allowing them the opportunity to see their favourite supporting characters back on screen- most prominently of course Dobby the elf who returns to give the movie a touching finale.

Amidst the gloom, screenwriter Steve Kloves again provides for rare welcome moments of levity. Harry's escort mission is aided by magical decoys of Harry, one of them wearing a bra. To get to the Ministry of Magic, one needs to flush oneself down a toilet bowl. These occasional sparks of humour enliven a film that is otherwise ominous and menacing. Kloves however fumbles slightly with the lengthy expository, and those who have not read the book will find themselves struggling to catch up with the significance of certain characters (e.g. Sirius' brother, Regulus Arcturus Black) and certain events (e.g. Bathilda turning into a slithering serpent).

Still Kloves never had an enviable task to begin with, and Yates- at his most confident here- guides the proceedings along admirably, unfolding them briskly at the start, then settling in for a deliberately measured pace and finally picking up speed for as much as a climax as this first- parter can have. His assuredness also shows in his artistic choices, especially a wayang-kulit-like animated sequence telling the story of the Deathly Hallows.

Though we know better than to expect the grand showdown between Harry and Voldemort by the end of the film, there is still a distinct sense that what we have seen so far is only a build-up for something bigger and far more astounding. But even as a prelude, this seventh film is notable in its own right, a tense and thrilling experience darker, scarier and more mature than any of its predecessors

I would agree that this is the best of the Harry Potter movies. It has a different feel definately, without Hogwarts or Dumbledore... but that gives you chance to meet so many more new characters and new stories. My favorite of the franchise and a must watch if your a Potter fan or not! :)

I think this movie was outstanding! Good acting, good picture, god story!
The only thing I need to point out is that if you have never read the book and only know a little bit about the saga you will have tough time following it since it transfers loads of important and subtle details that are crucial to the understanding of the movie.
Anyway even if you don't get it you will have a great time watching this marvellous movie!

good follow up on the other films. the plot had a slow pace and the climax was far into the film.i found this harry potter to be more dark than the others because of the women who turned into a snake and all the blood in the room.this film was mostly story so was not as entertaining as other harry potters. The way they spent too long focusing on the walking aspect of ron hermoine and harry and dragged it out. that was my only criticism about the film otherwise a good film.

One of the best movies out of the series, with stunning special effects and great acting. This film is definitely worth a watch. The Golden Trio seek isolation to protect themselves and their loved ones whilst searching for Voldemort's Horcruxes.
With emotions running high, and nerves starting to kick in, the Trio have to work together.. but thing's don't always go as planned...
Full of suspence, action and emotion. A gripping film that will have you on the edge of your seat. 5/5.

I really think this is the best movie they have donne... I hated the 6th one! but this one is gr8... can't wait for the last part... but at the same time I am sad... its the end of an era. i was 11 when I started reading this books, now I am 22 and I feel like I'm leting my childhood go... thanks J.K. Rolling for writing this, you taught me to love reading, and opened my eyes to the magic inside of us all!

Concerning the movie: As big a Potter fan as I am -- I've read each book twice and seen all the movies -- I liked this production the least. The beginning was fraught with so much violence and so many effects, it was hard to follow the story line. (By the way: I thought the car chase scene was utterly out of context and just plain dumb.) And while the music and sound effects were recorded at eardrum-splitting levels, in many places the audio was not recorded loud enough for the viewer to hear the dialogue well. We had great speakers hooked up for sound; I don’t believe the problem was ours.

The gratuitous almost-sex-scene with Harry and Hermione brought me right out of the movie. Nothing in the book alluded to such a thing, so what was that all about? In the past I've recommended the movies to mature children, but no more. I'll stick with praising the books.

None of which is to say that the actors were anything but terrific -- every last one. The casting was/is perfect. John Hurt for instance, is exceptionally rich in his role. Ron Weasley is wonderfully vulnerable, bumbling and sweet in his adoration of Hermione, and Dobby (!) is adorable and funny. I would have liked to see more of the very complicated Snape.

Some of the best scenes were those showing the relationships among the characters. I'm thinking of Hermione's fury when Ron returns after an ill-advised absence. I wish there were more opportunities to see humorous interplay between characters; they allow the viewer to relax a bit.

The animation of the "Three Brothers" story is just beautiful, if a bit gruesome. (Did we really have to see the second brother swinging from a noose of his own making? Please.) Hermione's voice-over was recorded perfectly by the way, in contrast to much of the spoken audio.

Listen. With all, it was a pleasure to see the movie with no hiccups in the viewing. Kudos to LetMeWatchThis.

I think that this is a great movie. It isn't my favourite Harry Potter film, but it was definitely a great film. First I'll actually start off with what was bad about it. Since I'm someone that hasn't read the books and has only seen the films, I found this a tad confusing at times. This is partly because of the way that the film is paced. It dives straight into an action sequence right at the beginning, then rapidly slows down throughout the rest of the film, with another brief action scene at the very end. This slow pace did make it drag on a bit at times, but strangely I felt that the movie went along fairly quickly despite being almost 2 and a half hours long. Now onto what was good about this film. The CGI is definitely the best it has ever been. Some of the scenes looking pretty stunning. Also, the acting is as solid as ever. Daniel Radcliff and co put on an excellent performance once again. The main positive though is the atmosphere that was built. It did a great job in building a dark, but well rounded (unlike Half Blood Prince) atmosphere to the film. This is definitely a great film to see if you are a fan of the franchise.
